Smartlead pricing starts at $39 a month for the Base plan, which stores 2,000 contacts and sends 6,000 emails a month, and runs to $379 a month for Unlimited Prime. Yearly billing takes 17% off every plan, and every plan lets you connect as many mailboxes as you like. The mailboxes themselves are a separate bill. We checked every price on Smartlead's pricing page and in its help center on October 26, 2026, then priced the 30,000-email month Reachly publishes on its outbound lead generation services page as if you bought all of it from Smartlead.

Key Findings

  • Smartlead's four plans cost $39, $94, $174 and $379 a month, or $32, $78, $144 and $315 a month billed yearly.
  • Contacts stored is the limit most teams hit first. It never resets, while the email allowance resets every billing date.
  • Mailboxes bought through Smartlead cost $4.50 a month each, or $9 pre-warmed. For a 30,000-email month that is $810 a month, 4.7 times the $174 plan.
  • Bought entirely inside Smartlead, a 30,000-email month costs about $1,098 a month before the person running it, plus $936 a year for domains.
  • Pre-warmed mailboxes cost more than fresh ones from the first sending month. They buy you about four weeks of time.
  • Smartlead refunds a new plan within 7 days, but never refunds add-ons: mailboxes, domains, verification, placement tests, servers or prospect data.

How much does Smartlead cost in 2026?

Smartlead costs $39 to $379 a month, with custom plans above that. Each plan is priced by how many contacts you can store, how many emails you can send a month, and how many verified prospect emails you get from SmartProspect, Smartlead's own lead database.

Pro is the first plan with the API, so it is the real starting point if you connect Smartlead to Clay, a CRM or your own scripts. Prime is built for agencies: three client workspaces and three servers are already in the price.

Contacts or emails: which limit you hit first

Smartlead's help center is clear on this. The email allowance resets on your billing date each month. The contact count stays fixed for as long as the contacts sit in your account. A lead in three campaigns still counts once.

Reachly's sequences are two emails, sent 5 to 6 days apart. At that length, Pro's 90,000 emails would need 45,000 fresh contacts a month, and Pro only stores 30,000 in total. So for most cold email programs the contact cap decides the plan. Unlimited Smart removes it, which is why Smartlead calls it the most popular plan.

What do Smartlead's add-ons cost?

The add-ons are where the bill grows. Smartlead sells mailboxes, email verification, inbox placement tests, dedicated servers, client workspaces and calling credits on top of any plan. None of them can be refunded.

Domains bought here run for a fixed year with no renewal. At month 12 the domain and every mailbox on it expire, says Smartlead's refund policy. Mailboxes are billed monthly with no proration, so deleting one mid-month still costs the full month.

Email verification credits

One credit checks one address. The price slider on the pricing page only shows these prices once you move it, so here they all are.

What does a 30,000-email month cost if you buy it all inside Smartlead?

Reachly publishes its own line-item cost for sending 30,000 cold emails a month for one client on the outbound lead generation services page: 72 domains at about $900 one-off, 180 mailboxes at $640 a month, 45,000 leads of data at about $450, 45,000 verification credits at about $500, sequencing software at $50 to $150, and an operator at $2,500 to $5,000 a month. Reachly runs those campaigns on Smartlead and is a Smartlead Certified Partner. Here is the same month bought line by line from Smartlead's own menu.

Why the mailboxes cost more than the plan

Unlimited mailboxes means you can connect as many as you like at no charge from Smartlead. You still have to buy them. At 180 mailboxes the SmartSenders bill is $810 a month, 4.7 times the plan. Put another way, every 1,000 emails a month needs about 6 mailboxes, which is $27 of mailboxes against $5.80 of plan.

Reachly's own mailbox line is $170 a month lower than buying the same 180 through SmartSenders. If you run more than a few dozen mailboxes, compare SmartSenders with buying from the provider directly before you click through the in-app store.

How many mailboxes 30,000 emails really need

Reachly sends no more than 15 emails per Google mailbox a day, and 10 to 12 on Outlook. At 12 to 15 a day over about 22 sending days, 30,000 emails need 91 to 114 mailboxes actually sending. Reachly runs 180, because it keeps about 30% of its infrastructure in reserve and rests any mailbox whose bounce rate passes 2%.

Cost calculators that assume 30 to 50 emails per mailbox a day land on 27 to 45 mailboxes. That makes the mailbox line look 4 to 7 times smaller than it is for a team sending at a careful pace.

Why the verification and data lines differ

On paper, the Smartlead route is $542 to $642 a month cheaper than Reachly's published lines, and almost all of the gap is data and verification. Two things sit behind it.

  • Verification depth. Smartlead's credits check each address once. Reachly runs multi-step verification on every address, because 10 to 25% of a raw list comes back catch-all, and a single check cannot tell you whether those will bounce.
  • Where the leads come from. SmartProspect is one database. Reachly maps each market from more than 10 data sources and ranks accounts by buying signals before anyone is emailed. If SmartProspect covers your ICP well, the included 50,000 prospect emails are worth about $450 a month, 2.6 times the plan.

What 1,000 emails cost with everything included

The Smartlead route costs about $36.60 per 1,000 emails for the tool, mailboxes and verification. With an operator at $2,500 to $5,000 a month, it is $120 to $203 per 1,000. The plan itself is $5.80 of that.

Are pre-warmed Smartlead mailboxes worth double the price?

Only if four weeks matter more to you than the money. Reachly warms every new mailbox for four weeks before it sends a real email, so fresh mailboxes cost one month of fees with nothing sent. Pre-warmed mailboxes skip that month, but at $9 they cost $810 a month more for 180 of them, and their domains cost $18 instead of $13.

Counting the plan during warm-up and the domains, fresh mailboxes are already $186 cheaper after the first sending month and $4,236 cheaper after six. What pre-warmed buys is speed. Reachly's service page puts first meetings at about 10 days on pre-warmed domains against 5 to 6 weeks on branded domains that warm from scratch.

So the question is what four weeks of meetings are worth to you. If one early deal covers $810 a month, pre-warmed makes sense for the launch. One middle route is to start on pre-warmed mailboxes while fresh ones warm up, then move the volume across and delete the pre-warmed set.

Can you get a refund or cancel Smartlead?

Yes, within limits. Smartlead's refund policy covers the plan only.

  • New plan: a full refund within 7 days of payment.
  • Renewal: a refund within 3 days, and only if you have not used the product since it renewed.
  • Add-ons: never refunded. That covers SmartSenders, SmartInfra servers, SmartDelivery, SmartProspect, verification and SmartDialer.

To cancel Base or Pro, go to Settings, then Subscription, then Cancel. The plan runs to the end of the billing period. Custom plans are canceled through support, per Smartlead's cancellation guide.

Two of Smartlead's help articles disagree about mailboxes. The cancellation guide says SmartSenders mailboxes are canceled along with the plan. The refund policy says to delete them from the Email Accounts tab to stop the charges. Delete them yourself and check the next invoice.

Smartlead's own pages also differ on a few prices. The pricing page shows yearly rates of $32, $78, $144 and $315, while its machine-readable pricing file says $32.50, $78.30, $144.50 and $314.60. Check the number at checkout.

Which Smartlead plan should you choose?

Smartlead pricing FAQ

Is Smartlead free?

There is no free plan. The 14-day trial needs no card. If you then pay monthly, the new-plan refund window is 7 days, so you have about three weeks in total to decide before money is at risk.

How much does it cost to send 10,000 emails?

About $410 a month on Smartlead, plus $312 a year for domains, before data and people. That is Pro at $94, about 60 fresh SmartSenders mailboxes at $270, and 18,000 verification credits at $45 for roughly 15,000 leads. Base cannot do it: it stops at 6,000 emails a month. Pro's 30,000-contact cap fills in about two months at that pace unless you delete finished leads.

Is Smartlead AI good?

For cold email in volume, yes. Reachly sends every client campaign through it and holds Smartlead's certified partner status. Its weak spots are a busy dashboard for a first campaign and slow live support when something breaks, which our Smartlead review covers in detail.

Is Instantly better than Smartlead?

On price they are close until the contact count grows. Instantly Hypergrowth at $97 stores 25,000 contacts against 30,000 on Smartlead Pro at $94. For 45,000 contacts, Smartlead Unlimited Smart costs $174 and Instantly Hypergrowth with one contact add-on costs $184. The Smartlead vs Instantly comparison goes through deliverability and agency features.

What is the cheapest cold email software?

Of the two tools we have priced, Smartlead Base is the cheapest way in, at $39 a month or $32 billed yearly, against $47 for Instantly Growth. The cheapest entry plan rarely stays the cheapest, since contact caps push you up a plan within a few months.
